The idea
Another Day is based on a series of dreams I had, back in 2023 about an exclusively Queer circus. What prompted those dreams? I have no idea, but they brought me to this point! 😂
The characters (and changes)
A lot of things have changed from the dreams, the main couple was Rolly and Maxi, with Zeke constantly trying to sabotage their relationship. Rolly was also using heavy drugs that messed him up before the first show, which I’m very glad I toned down 😅
Though I tried to not change their personalities too much. I decided that Rolly is now on a cleaner path, though he does still smoke and drink. Zeke has calmed down completely and is more supportive of Rolly being in relationships, rather than trying to destroy them. Maxi has a crazy admiration for Rolly, rather than romantic feelings and I let Maxi have a new love interest, who appears in the second chapter.
Sandy has also changed, she was really unhinged in the dreams, to the point where I just didn’t feel comfortable writing about her.. adventures 😅 So I’ve toned her down, but I’ve kept some things the same, like her love interest, who is her long term friend and roommate, Brie. She also comes from a burlesque background, so she brings those kinds of routines to the show. A lot of her unhinged side also comes from her side job as a writer of smutty books.
Saff hasn’t really changed, they are the most calm and levelheaded character, always coming up with good ideas and making a load of tea. They are one of my more shy and quiet characters, which makes a nice contrast against the rest of the louder cast.
Lucian was almost a bad guy in some ways, he’d do anything to keep things running smoothly (ANYTHING). I suppose that’s when his name came from.. my brain was clearly plotting. He was always nice to the acts though.. kind of. So he has changed a lot, though he can be a little bit selfish sometimes. He comes from a rich family, so I guess he’s a little bratty 😂
